Zen Yoga Mum in Blissful Bali

I'm in Bali, Indonesia on a yoga retreat.
I know no-one, apart from my room mate, and have barely met the yoga teacher.

It seemed like a good idea back in October when I managed to convince my family this would be a really lovely Christmas & birthday present...

There I was sitting cross legged in a new yoga class,
the words Namaste barely having left everyone's lips...

When the teacher says
'if I anyone would like to join us, we are organising
Yoga Retreat in Ubud, Bali. Flyers are here, up the front'

The words 'like a rat up a drainpipe' spring to mind...

The form was completed the very next day, leaving the teacher to comment
"you are obviously a women of action and in need of a yoga retreat'
Spot on!

Zen Yoga Mum is a work in progress.

Our pad in Ubud
That was before both daughters left home for opposing continents,
or before DH came home everyday with the option of moving to a different country, all testing my inner Zen!

This was however before I realised that I would miss my son playing his inaugural game of soccer for the school Firsts soccer team,
or I would miss seeing him in his new suit for the School Formal...

And way before the Crazy Poodle looks at me with his
"You're not leaving again are you' expression?

It was also way, way before we are queueing up in the arrivals hall for a zillion years at the new Dempasar International Airport...

Paddy fields around Ubud

Boy, it might only be six days after getting back from the last trip,
but it feels real good to be getting away!

But now we are here, today we joined a cycle tour we went all the way up a mountain and then rode downhill for 25km's - my sort of cycling. It was beautiful with children calling out 'hello', admist lovely rice fields and interesting villages. We saw people washing in rivers and even chanced upon a some village festival celebrations.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the week brings.
It is 23 years since I was last in Bali.
So far I have not been disappointed, it is great to be back here!

Hello Summer 2023!

As they say I haven't been everywhere yet but it's on my list! April ended up being an incredible month as I returned to Australia, thanks to a wonderful invite to attend a 7 night Detox at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat in Queensland. Here is a little excerpt:  Gwinganna Detox Program I’ve been invited to join a  seven-night detox program  at Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat. They are winners of the  World’s Best Eco Spa Awards  (2022 World Spa Awards) and it is beyond exciting. Well, until I read the small print… So it’s no gluten, dairy,

Autumn Spice and everything nice!

Hey, what ever happened to Summer? I hope yours was lovely, mine was pretty amazing! It feels like my whole year has whizzed past in a flash, how about yours?  I've had a year of saying "yes" to everything offered to me. It has been exciting to put it out to the Universe to see where I should be. We feel very fortunate to be able to do this in my husband's early years of retirement. I'm just back in Asia from the US. I never feel my year is quite right without seeing British daffodils in the Spring and a pumpkin and the leaves turning in Autumn. Yay, the world nailed it this year, thank you.  Read on to find out what happened when my ultimate yes occurred on a trip to Montana to meet Ruth, an IG friend. I know Bloggers will smile and not be at all concerned, we've been meeting up around the globe for years, haven't we...?!  But let's just say some of my family and friends were, you're doing what?! But first some Little Wren updates! France I had so

It's a funny old world!
